Sigri, is a small unexplored village in Nanital with just
172 total population. 16 kilometers from Nainital, the drive takes only 30
minutes to get there. The entire drive is through the forested area of China
Peak Range via Snow View Point and Kilbury, the main habitats for excellent
birding.
One can see a variety of Himalayan species along the way
such as lammergeier, Himalayan griffon, blue-winged minla, spotted &
slaty-backed forktail, rufous-bellied woodpecker, rufous-bellied niltava,
khalij pheasant, variety of thrushes etc. Almost 150 bird species have been
recorded at Sigri and surrounding areas. The numerous perennial & seasonal
creeks are home to an amazing variety of flora and fauna including the leopard,
yellow-throated Himalayan martins, Himalayan palm civet, ghoral, barking deer,
sambhar etc.
You can explore Kamp Land Nature Resort which is surrounded
by mountains, cut by deep and lush valleys from all sides. Silver oak abounds
the region amid some Himalayan fauna and birds that are often spotted by
passers by.
This resort is evolving and the location is beautiful. You
will find yourself relaxing in heaven. The rooms are designed in modern style
but you might feel the hygiene to be quiet a miss out here.
This place is good for someone who is looking for quiet
relaxing holidays. People who want to do yoga and meditation, this place would
be ideal. Moreover to keep you busy in day you can indulge in indoor games,
lawn cricket and badminton. On request you can ask for boating, golfing,
trekking. You can also enjoy a good massage. In night under the star light sky
you can enjoy bonfire and barbeque.
