Trek to Chanderkhani Pass: Unexplored Destinations in Himachal

Himachal has The Chanderkhani Pass(Maximum Elivation: 3660m)situated in the picturesque Shivalik Range called 'Devbhoomi'-Land of the Gods. Being a 110 km stretch the pass has long and beautiful stretches of pure white snow and as there is an increase in altitude, topography goes on changing. There are different kinds of shrubs, blossoming with a variety of flowers and the trail is laden with the fragrance of wild roses and rhododendrons.
One of the most popular and beautiful trek in Kullu Valley. Starting from Naggar to Chanderkhani pass gives an extensive panorama of the Bara Bangahal, Pir Panjal and Parbati ranges.
The trek begins at Naggar after a short drive from Manali of the left bank of River Beas. After crossing the Chanderkhani Pass (3600m), this trek gets to the Malana village, famous for its distinct and very reserved social culture. Care and respect for local customs is essential.
On the top of Chanderkhani Pass (3600m) one can have a striking view of Deo Tibba, overlooking the Malana glen and other snow-capped mountains on the Spiti border. From there one descends to Malana village. Malana comprises of two parts about a hundred yards apart.
Considerable variations are possible after Chanderkhani Pass, and a number of alternatives are appended. The pass can be crossed between April and November but the best period is 10 May to 30 June, and 20 August to 15 October.
The main highlights are famous hamlet of Malana, Spectacular vistas of Lahaul peaks, Shimla hills, Naggar fort, Roerick Art Gallery.
Malana is a very unique village as visitors are not allowed in most parts.
